Preparing to vote in the General Election

The Mayoral and County Council elections may be over, but election fever is still in the air with the General election next month.

Fenland residents will head to the polls once again on June 8 to elect their next MP for the North East Cambridgeshire Constituency.

Poll cards are being sent out this week, from Monday, May 8, to electors who are already on the electoral register and are eligible to vote.

But anyone who wants to vote and isn't already registered must do so by Monday, May 22. Register to vote online

Postal and proxy applications can be printed from the Electoral Commission's website, or by calling the District Council's elections team on 01354 654321. Postal vote applications must be received before 5pm on Tuesday, May 23, and proxy applications before 5pm on Tuesday, May 31.

The Statement of Persons Nominated, which names candidates standing in the election, will be available on Fenland District Council's website from 5pm on Thursday, May 11.
