Civic Reception - Kay

Cadets from the Sir Harry Smith Community College joined Mrs Mayor and her consort, husband Ken, to greet civic dignitaries as they arrived for the event.

Around 150 guests attended the reception, which was held at the College on Friday, July 7. They included fellow council chairmen, town mayors and leaders from across the area and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Belinda Sutton. The evening included a buffet and entertainment from recent College leaver Abigail Hyland who performed three songs.

Mrs Mayor thanked everyone for attending and announced Macmillan Cancer Support as the charity she will be supporting during her year in office.

She said: "It was lovely to have so many people present at the reception; a really enjoyable evening was had by all."

Mrs Mayor will be hosting a Macmillan coffee morning in aid of her nominated charity in the Council Chamber at Fenland Hall, County Road, March, on Thursday, September 28.

Members of the public are welcome to join her for a cuppa and piece of cake from 10am. There will also be a prize raffle. For more information contact Members Services on 01354 654321.
