Disabled Facilities Grants
Helping you to stay in your home. If you are a homeowner, a tenant with a disability, or someone living with you is disabled, you may be able to get help with adaptations to make your home suitable for your needs.
A Disabled Facilities grant is designed to help you (or someone living with you) to remain at home and live independently for as long as possible.
To apply, you need to arrange an assessment by an Occupational Therapist by calling Cambridgeshire Direct on 0345 045 5205. Arrangements will then be made of an Occupational Therapist to visit your home and carry out a needs assessment. The Occupational Therapist will then refer their recommendations to the Housing team at Fenland District Council. They will then forward your case onto our partners, Care and Repair Agency.
The Care and Repair Agency will contact you, and manage the process for you. They will complete your application paperwork, find a suitable person to carry out the works and will manage the works in your home until they are completed.
All grants are subject to statutory means testing, unless they are related to child cases.
