To approve the appointment of HAGS to deliver their design for Westmead Play Area in Wisbech, following a procurement process.

 

Reasons for the decision:

The existing play area has reached the end of its useful life.  A decision to replace the play area was made in 2025.  A procurement process has been run in Feb / March 2026.  Evaluation of the bids received has identified HAGS as the best option for this contract.

Alternative options were:

 

  1. Remove play equipment
  2. Leave existing, beyond useful life, equipment in place.

 

Neither of the alternative options are a satisfactory alternative to providing a suitable play area for local residents.
