Private Hire Operator Licence
Apply for a licence, or make a change to your licence.
Any driver who receives bookings, or has contracts for hire and reward for a private hire vehicle is required to hold an operator's licence.
An Operator Licence is required to run a Private Hire Business. The Licence is for the operation of the business only, and separate licenses for vehicles and drivers must also be obtained.
The base for the Private Hire Business must be within Fenland District Council's area. Applicants must be mindful that they obtain any necessary planning consents.
Applying for a Private Hire Operator Licence
To apply, you must submit the following items at one of our Fenland @ your service shops or Community Hubs:
- Private Hire Operator Application Form [27kb]
- Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (this is not required if the applicant is already a licensed Fenland District Council driver)
- A list of all vehicles and drivers used by the operator
One Year Licence
Five Year Licence
Private Hire Operator - up to 3 vehicles
Private Hire Operator - up to 10 vehicles
Private Hire Operator - up to 20 vehicles
Private Hire Operator - with 20+ vehicles
Updating your current Private Hire Operator Licence
To update your Name or Business name, or Address or Business Address please complete the Notification of change of details form [12kb]. You must return it to the Licensing team with your existing licence and relevant fee.
A Private Hire Operator must notify the Licensing team within 7 days if any convictions are imposed on them (or if the operator is a company, any convictions imposed on the company).
