Investment in Business Programme
The Investment in Business Programme makes grants of between £5,000 and £75,000 available to businesses to help them grow and increase employment opportunities in Fenland.
The £600k grant pot is available after Fenland District Council secured Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) funding for a range of Shared Prosperity Fund projects.
Any business that is based in or operates out of Fenland can apply for funding. It can be used for a broad range of capital and revenue projects to cover up to 80 per cent of project costs.
Businesses must demonstrate their proposal will deliver in at least two of the following areas:
- improve competitiveness
- enable growth
- enhance productivity
- create sustainable jobs
- safeguard any jobs at risk of redundancy within the next six months.
To reflect Fenland District Council's economic priorities, the programme will prioritise businesses with significant operations in or supplying:
- agri-food, for example - food production, food processing, food packaging, food security, horticulture and food technology
- specialist manufacturing, electronics and advanced and precision engineering.
The minimum award available to any successful applicant is £5,000 and the maximum award £75,000. These values serve as a guideline only and the Council reserves the right to award funding depending on the merit of the supporting detail provided within each application.
All capital and revenue grants will require an online Expression of Interest (EOI) and, if invited, a Full Application form. Once each EOI has been assessed using a standardised scoring process, those applicants that exceed a scoring threshold will be invited to complete the Full Application form and will receive support to complete the form from the Council's Economic Growth Team.
