Enjoy free coffee, cake and conversation: Meet rail managers at March Station coffee morning
Residents and rail passengers are being invited to share their feedback on local railway services and stations - and enjoy a free cuppa - during a community coffee morning at March Station.
The Hereward Community Rail Partnership, which champions the Hereward railway line through the Fens and its stations at Peterborough, Whittlesea, March, Manea, and Ely, is holding the event on Tuesday 12 November, from 8am to 11am.
The coffee morning is the perfect opportunity to meet with train operator managers and share feedback on train services, with managers from Greater Anglia, East Midlands Railway and CrossCountry on hand to answer any questions.
Representatives from the Hereward CRP will also be available to provide information on station improvements and offer insights into local attractions and days out along the Hereward Line.
There'll also be free tea, coffee and cake in the station waiting room, and an opportunity for visitors to look around the station's community rooms on Platform 2.
Cllr Chris Seaton, Chairman of the Hereward Community Rail Partnership and Portfolio Holder for Transport at Fenland District Council, said: "We are delighted to bring our latest Meet the Manager event back to March Station. It's a valuable opportunity for the community to engage with rail leaders, share their thoughts, and learn more about developments along the Hereward Line."
David Jones, Stakeholder Liaison Manager at CrossCountry, added: "Engaging with passengers directly is invaluable for us at CrossCountry," he said. "Their experiences and perspectives guide us in providing a service that meets the real needs of the communities along our route. I look forward to hearing their ideas and feedback."
Anyone unable to attend the event but wishing to share their views on March Station can fill in a quick March Station Survey 2024-2025 survey.
Managed by Fenland District Council, the Hereward CRP collaborates with train operators, railway user groups, station adoption groups and local residents. Together, the partnership works to champion improvements to the Hereward Line and its stations and engages communities to help them get the most out of their railway.
