Submitted options for reorganisation
Information on the submitted proposals for Local Government Reorganisation in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
Since Local Government Reorganisation was announced in December 2024, all authorities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have been collaborating on potential proposals for unitary councils in our area. Our officers have worked closely together and used common datasets where possible.
A total of five reorganisation proposals were prepared for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region known as A-E. Following each of the Council's governance processes four of the proposals have been supported for submission (Option C was not supported).
On 28 November 2025, the seven councils in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough submitted the following options for LGR for the Government to consider.
