Broad Concept Plans

Major allocated sites need a Broad Concept Plan (BCP) to ensure the delivery of key infrastructure

Policy LP7 - Urban Extensions of the Fenland Local Plan requires a Broad Concept Plan (BCP) to be prepared for each of its major allocated sites (either a Strategic Allocation or a Broad Location for Growth). This is to ensure these areas are planned and implemented in a coordinated way, linking to the timely delivery of key infrastructure.

The BCP will form a template that all future planning applications are expected to conform to.

A number of BCPs have been, or are in the process of being prepared. South Wisbech, East Wisbech and East Chatteris have reached an advanced stage.

The East Chatteris BCP was approved by Fenland's Planning Committee on 21st June 2017. This is detailed within the Planning Committee Report and Minutes
The East Wisbech BCP was approved by Fenland's Planning Committee on 23rd May 2018 and by King's Lynn and West Norfolk's Cabinet on 29th May 2018
The South Wisbech BCP was given approval by Fenland's Planning Committee on 29th April 2015. This is detailed within the Planning Committee Report and Minutes
