Service Block (March Town Bridge)
The March Town Bridge Service Block is on the Old River Nene, located at the town bridge in the centre of March.
The Service Block offers:
- Boat pump-out, chemical toilet disposal (Elsan) and tank flush
- Potable / drinking water facilities
- Boat hold refuse collection
Pump-out and chemical toilet disposal facilities
Please note: Our boat pump-out facility and chemical toilet (Elsan) disposal facility are currently out of service, and we are working to restore services as soon as possible.
The pump‑out facility is unavailable following the failure of the pre-paid card payment system. Despite extensive efforts, a suitable replacement for the existing mechanism could not be sourced or programmed.
We are now progressing plans to install a new contactless payment system. While we cannot yet confirm an exact installation date, we are hopeful this will be operational by the end of June 2026.
The Elsan disposal point is currently unavailable due to two separate issues:
- Pump failure: The pump failed in March 2026. Pipework repairs have now been completed, replacement parts have been purchased, and the pump is scheduled to be rebuilt by the end of April 2026.
Damaged public sewer: The sewer serving the Grays Lane sanitation point, which is managed by Anglian Water Services, is damaged. This means effluent cannot currently be discharged into the public sewer, which affects both the pump-out and the Elsan facilities. Anglian Water is aware of the issue and will need to carry out repair or replacement works before normal operation can resume. Until this happens, the sanitation point will unfortunately remain partially out of service.
The nearest other pump-out facility is available at Fox Marina. Please check its website for current opening hours and arrangements.
