The Strategic Housing & Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) provides evidence of the suitability, availability and deliverability of sites across the district. The SHELAA will inform the preparation of the emerging Local Plan, enabling the plan to identify a supply of sites to meet the district's development needs
Important: the SHELAA (Stage 1) contains sites which the Council understands to be available for development. At this stage, no assessment has been carried to determine a site's suitability for development. Inclusion of a site in the SHELAA (Stage 1) report does not provide the site with any additional planning status or merit
The Council held a second Call for Sites exercise from 28 July to 08 September 2020, providing landowners, developers, agents, etc., a further opportunity to submit sites they wish to be considered for inclusion in the emerging Local Plan.
The Addendum to the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment Stage 1 (SHELAA) report, available to download below provides details of the sites received during the second Call for Sites. This addendum should be read alongside the main report.
The interactive map shows all sites contained in the SHELAA (Stage 1) report. Zoom and pan the map to locate sites. Clicking on a site will reveal a pop up providing information about the site.
For further information on a site, refer to the SHELAA (Stage 1) report in the table below. The SHELAA (Stage 1) consists of a covering report; a series of site reports containing information on each site, arranged by parish and settlement; and, maps showing the location of sites in each settlement.
The Council will commence assessment of the sites shown in the SHELAA (Stage 1) report, shortly. The findings of this assessment will inform the selection of sites for allocation in the new Local Plan.
