You need an Operator Licence to run a Private Hire business
Vehicle and drivers each need their own Operators Licence. This includes:
A Private Hire Business must be based in Fenland District Council's area.
If you are operating a Private Hire business from your home, you may require Planning Permission, depending on how the business operates. It is recommended that you contact the Planning Team planning@fenland.gov.uk giving details such as the number of vehicles at the property, number of employees visiting the property and any customers visiting the property. Private Hire Operator - New Application
Following validation of your application and satisfactory results of any checks, we will produce your new Private Hire operator licence and email this to you.

Private Hire Operator - Renewal Application
Following validation of your application and satisfactory results of any checks, we will produce your new Private Hire operator licence and email this to you.
You must tell us within 7 days if you, or the company, receive convictions.
From 4 April 2022, there will be a small addition to the checks licensing bodies already have in place. You'll need to complete a tax check with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) when you renew your licence in relation to:
